Back yard fresh! Ford 9 inch rear end with disc brakes
from a Lincoln Versailles (I believe 1977 but not certain). The rear spins
freely, but the calipers and brake lines should be replaced before
attempting to use, as this has been sitting a good 15+ years. The previous
owner cut off the leaf spring mounting pads because he intended to convert
it to a coil spring mount for a GM vehicle, but lost interest in the
project.
Here is what I know about the rear end: Ford 9" differential Axle width
(flange to flange) 58.5 inches Stamped on carrier (center section aka the
pumpkin):
77 (top of snout)
2767 (face of snout)
75 (lower right)
7K20 (bottom right)
Tag (hard to read)
Top row: WDX (C or E or G?) 71A
Bottom: 2?5 9? 02?
(I believe the tag decode indicates a 2.75:1 gear ratio). If interested,
respond via email
crazycracker@hotmail.com or call 919-989-7842 and ask for John. No calls
after 10pm. I'd be happy to show you the rear and let you look it over to
see if it is something you can use in your cool project, and I am able to
help load this into a pickup truck, etc.Location: Four Oaks, NC (Johnston
County)
